We do the legwork. You make the decisions.
From first contact to signed deal, we handle the research, the paperwork, the back-and-forth and any rejections along the way. None of it costs you anything: you pay a commission only on what you receive.
What we handle, and what stays with you
An agent should save you time, not add to your workload. This is how the work is shared.
We handle
- Researching and comparing the platforms that license footage for AI
- Preparing your library summary: hours, formats, subjects and rights
- First contact and every follow-up with each platform
- The back-and-forth on questions, samples and terms
- Keeping track of offers, deadlines and payments
- Finding the next platform if one says no
You decide
- Which footage is offered, and which stays back
- Which platforms see your material
- Whether to accept any offer
- You sign each licence directly with the platform
All of this is included. There is no fee for our time, no retainer and nothing to pay upfront. Our commission comes only from money you have received from a deal we introduced.
Step by step
A typical path from first message to first payment. Every archive is different, so treat the timings as a guide.
- Day one
You get in touch
A few lines through our form or by email: roughly how many hours you hold and what they show. We reply within two working days.
- Week one
A short call
Thirty minutes by video or phone, in English or French. We ask about formats, subjects, storage and rights, and answer your questions. If we don’t think your footage will sell, we tell you.
- Weeks one to two
Our one-page agreement
It sets our commission and how long it applies, in plain language. There are no upfront fees, and nothing is introduced to anyone until you have signed it.
- Weeks two to four
We prepare your library
We turn what you tell us into a clear summary that platforms can assess: what you hold, its quality and its rights. Sample clips, if you choose to share any, only go where you approve.
- From week four
Introductions and offers
We approach the platforms best suited to your footage and handle every exchange: questions, samples, terms and follow-ups. Each offer comes to you with its key terms set out plainly. If a platform passes, we move on to the next.
- The following months
You sign, deliver and get paid
You sign directly with the platform you choose and deliver your files to it. The platform pays you on its own schedule, which you see before signing. You then pay our commission from what you received.
Timings are typical, not promised. They depend on your archive and on each platform’s own process.
Our time, the calls, the paperwork, the back-and-forth and the rejections. You pay only when a deal we introduced has paid you.
No upfront fees
Nothing to pay before an introduction, and nothing to set up.
No retainer
No monthly charge, however long a deal takes.
Nothing if nothing sells
If no deal pays you, you owe us nothing.
Before anything is offered
Not sure what qualifies? That is what the first call is for. We go through your archive with you before anything reaches a buyer.
What every licence needs
- You own the footage, or control its rights
- Signed releases from anyone recognisable
- No copyrighted music or third-party clips
- HD or higher, ideally 4K
- Files you can deliver digitally
What to send us first
- A rough count of hours
- Formats and resolutions, such as HD, 4K or RAW
- The main subjects, places and years
- How you hold the rights: your own shoots, commissions or acquisitions
- A few sample clips, only if you are happy to share them
What a licence covers
Licences for AI training are written for one purpose. You see every term before you sign.
What buyers typically receive
- The right to train AI models on the footage
- For the period and the volume set in the licence
- In return for a fixed fee, or a share of revenue, as the licence sets out
- Models trained during the licence usually keep what they learned after it ends
What you can ask to exclude
- Showing, selling or redistributing your clips as they are
- Using anyone’s name, image or likeness
- Any subjects, years or collections you want to keep back
Terms differ between platforms and deals. One platform, Protege, has for example excluded training on licensed music and stopped models from reproducing actors’ faces or voices. We are not lawyers, and for a large deal we recommend independent legal advice.
If a platform says no
Not every platform wants every library. A refusal is usually about fit, not quality: a platform may already hold enough of one subject, or buy only certain formats.
We tell you why if we know, and take your library to the next suitable platform. It costs you nothing.
What helps us move faster
- A rough count of hours, formats and resolutions
- Any existing licence or stock agreements
- Releases for people who appear on camera
- Quick replies when a platform asks a question
Key terms, in plain words
You will meet these words in every licence. We explain each one as it comes up.
- Licence
- Permission to use footage for an agreed purpose, period and price. You keep ownership.
- Non-exclusive
- You can license the same footage to others, including other AI buyers and stock sites.
- Exclusive
- Only this buyer may use the footage for the agreed purpose, usually for a higher price. Check the scope and length carefully.
- Fixed fee
- A set amount for the footage, often calculated per hour or per minute.
- Revenue share
- A percentage of what a platform earns from licensing your footage, paid as it sells.
- Release
- Signed permission from someone who appears on camera. Buyers usually require one for anyone recognisable.
- Rights-cleared
- Footage whose ownership and permissions are documented, with no third-party music or clips.
- Training rights
- The right to use footage to train AI models, usually without showing or reselling the clips themselves.
Not ready to write yet?
Leave your email to get our Archive Readiness Checklist: what buyers look for, how to check your rights and what to gather before a first call. We’ll then get in touch once to see whether we can help. No obligation.
Ready when you are.
Tell us roughly what your archive holds. We reply within two working days, and there is nothing to pay unless your footage earns.
